Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Non Touring Makeup - Dewy Makeup - Summer Makeup - Natual Makeup Look

The highly contoured faces are so passé. This season it’s all about dewy and glowing face inspired by the model duo Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. This shift towards natural appearance has been aptly coined the term “non-touring” and focuses on highlighting your skin to create a no makeup fresh look rather than masking it beneath layers of makeup.

“Summer is definitely an ideal time to incorporate a healthy looking glow when it comes to your makeup and it begins with a routine that will emulate a naturally gorgeous, radiant finish complexion” explains celebrity makeup artist Jo Levy. The fact the non-toured look is also more daylight friendly has taken this trend by storm.

We asked Jo how to achieve the Kendal Jenner look and she says “A ‘non-tour’ look is the fresh faced opposite of a structured and contoured complexion and is very simple to achieve with some basic products like a primer cum coverage multitasker, highlighter and gloss.”

Here’s Jo’s step-by-step guide to achieve a dewy looking, flawless, radiant complexion for the summer season with vegan makeup picks to achieve the look.

Start with a skin enhancing, luminous lightweight foundation or tinted moisturizer

During the summer season, skip the heavy foundation and instead opt for a light to medium coverage tinted moisturizer or BB Cream with a luminous finish to achieve the natural dewy look. The adjustable coverage will allow you to diminish the look of imperfections without heavily masking skin so that it looks natural and healthy with a hint glow.

I love the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour + SPF 30 Sunscreen ($40) as it is essentially three products in one to help prep, perfect and protect: primer, light foundation and sunscreen. Once you have moisturized your skin, apply a dime-sized amount with a foundation brush starting at the center of the complexion and blending outward using slanted strokes.

Use a creamy and nourishing concealer to mask imperfections

Lightly layering a creamy, medium coverage concealer onto specific areas such as the under eyes and chin eliminates additional imperfections and allows the skin to appear instantly brighter. A hydrating formula of concealer allows for a more luminous and hydrated finish giving the skin a soft, dewy appearance.

I love how Orglamix’s Natural Wonder Concealer ($15) delivers a flawless finish that mimics the skin’s natural texture, as it’s never chalky or dry. Simply dab and roll a light coat of concealer onto the under eyes, chin and sides of the nose after you have applied foundation.

Follow with a creamy blush that delivers a nude toned, natural looking flush.

For a radiant and soft effect on cheeks, skip your powder blush and instead opt for a creamy formulation that emulates a second-skin glow. For the summer season, I recommend warms shades of nude, peach or bronze to help give the complexion a delicate sun-kissed look.

Juice Beauty’s PHYTO-PIGMENTS Last Looks Cream Blush in Flush ($24) will help you get the perfect dewy look for the summer. Using your middle and ring fingers, dab onto the center part of the cheeks and blend upward and outward for a subtle contour.

Most important step is using a highlighter to give skin an immediate yet natural looking radiant lift and glow

Using a highlighter to enhance skin is a crucial step in helping to create a dewy and immediate glow on the skin during all seasons but particularly in the summer when your skin is more exposed.

I recommend Gressa Skin Minimalist Illuminating Serum ($45) for a sheer, pearlized glow. The soft, shimmering finish looks more realistic that certain powder highlighters that can tend to look metallic on the skin.

There are several ways that this liquid illuminator can be applied. For a direct highlight, dab and blend using fingertips onto the high parts of the cheeks, bridge of the nose and the center or inner corners of the eyelids. Choosing no more than three areas on the face will make the difference between the perfect, dewy glow versus a shiny effect on skin. Less is always more especially if you have oily skin! For an all-over subdued luminous glow, mix a few drops into your foundation or tinted moisturizer.

Enhance your eyes with a cream textured bronze or taupe shadow stick.

For the summer season choose earth toned, soft shimmering shades that warm up and play up the eyes with a soft glow. I often recommend using a cream shadow, as it’s easier to blend out. Earthy bronze or taupe shades complement all eye colors and are super versatile as they can be worn from day to night.

I love 100% Pure’s Dual-Ended Creamstick in Chocolate/Champagne ($22). You can mix and match both shades to create a custom subtle smoky eye or use the deeper chocolate shade as eyeliner, adding definition along the lashes. The lighter shade of champagne or taupe can be applied all-over as an eye base for a brighter look. The creamy formula of these pencils also makes them goof-proof so you can easily blend with your fingertips or buff out using a soft vegan eye shadow brush until your desired level of pigment is reached.

A flesh toned lip-gloss or balm to finish the look.

A natural healthy sheen on the lips is just what you need to finish this non-tour radiant complexion. Instead of opting for high-shimmer formulations, stick with a formula that contains a hint of shimmer and a lacquered finish with a peachy-nude undertone.

I recommend Urban Decay’s Naked Nourishing Lip-gloss in the shade, Walk of Shame (peachy-nude pink) or Color Nooner ($20-22) for a pulled together, natural looking sheen on lips.
