World’s largest vegetarian country by population is finally embracing veganism. This milk obsessed nation was behind in catching up to the vegan lifestyle but things are fast changing. So many new vegan restaurants are now popping up in different parts of the country. The latest to launch is Vegan Burger Kitchen in Mumbai – a vegan burger delivery service that uses locally-sourced organic produce for its delicious vegan burgers. Some of their popular vegan burgers include BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Burger, Cauliflower and Red Lentil Burger, and the Asian-style Sweet Potato and Peanut Burger.

Toronto is buzzing with vegan restaurants and city’s Queen West area is soon to get a new plant-based restaurant in Fall 2017 – Parka Food Co. This quick-serve restaurant will serve comfort classic foods with a healthy twist and will feature communal tables (the most fashionable concept among restaurants these days), open-kitchen and a comfortable seating to create a space where people can come and engage in conversations while enjoying their indulgent plant-based meals. The restaurant aims to serve quality meals using fresh ingredients and will have classics such as portobello burger, mac n cheese and fries supreme.

Seabirds Kitchen, Long Beach, California (USA)

Long Beach gets a new all-vegan restaurant with Seabirds Kitchen with the opening of its new location at 975 East 4th Street in July 2017. Salads, tacos, enchiladas, burgers and delectable vegan desserts (tiramisu to apple crumble, scones to banana breads) – they have a wide menu that’ll have you lick your fingers.

Opened in June 2017 with the mission of elevating plant based food to a new level, this new vegan restaurant focuses on using fresh local produce to create plant-based bowls that will be savoured by both the vegans and non-vegans alike. Their bright and green space evokes a feeling of summer all-year round while the large communal counter makes it a great place to network and allows guests to eat together. Their Kokomo Acai bowl is super yummy and they also serve Cocowhip vegan ice-cream. This place was inspired by their founders’ passion for health, community, love and fun. Did we tell you it is dairy-free, nut-free and gluten-free?

Kind Kones, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

 Mont Kiara area of Kuala Lumpur gets a 100% vegan ice-cream parlor opened by husband and wife duo Ishpal and Serina. With flavors like matcha coconut, cinnamon toast, salted chocolate chip and strawberries (yup they’re made using fresh strawberries, not the flavors) and ice-creams that are free from eggs, dairy, refined sugar, emulsifiers, preservatives, additives, artificial colouring and flavouring this place is definitely going to rock the taste buds of vegans and non-vegans alike. In addition to ice-creams, Kind Kones also serves vegan desserts.

In a very small town of Massachusetts, located on a former farm, this expansive plant-based cafe is a new addition to the thriving vegan scene in America. From lasagne to wood-fired vegan pizzas, burgers to salads and cold-pressed juices and mylks this place is surely a vegan paradise. Pulse uses fresh, organic ingredients for its recipes, that you can taste in every bite of their delicious food. This place is definitely worth a visit. The service and huge space will make you fall in love with this beautiful vegan cafe that aces in everything.

Veggie Pret, London (UK)


London is set to get a second Veggie Pret, the vegetarian avatar of UK food chain Pret A Manger {organic and healthy chain with locations across the world}, this April. After a smashing success of its first vegetarian only pop-up restaurant last year in London, the new Veggie Pret will get a permanent spot in Shoreditch. According to a statement from its CEO Clive Schlee, the new vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurant will feature 20 new vegetarian recipes including vegan chocolate brownies and vegan mac n’ cheese—an item that took the company a full year to perfect.

World’s first quick serve avocado bar is set to open it’s doors in the first week of April and it’s in none other than Brooklyn. Francesco Brachetti, the Italian Founder of Avocaderia fell in love with avocados while living in Mexico and decided to open an avocado bar where everything on the menu will have organic avocado in it. The menu includes breakfast and lunch bowls, salads, toasts, smoothies, and of course, guacamole. While this isn’t a 100% vegan or veggie place, we felt being an avocado bar it needs a mention on this list!

Goldie Falafel, Philadelphia (USA) 

First day of April was also the first day for Goldie – the vegan falafel place on Sansom Street, Philadelphia. Veteran CookNSolo chef Caitlin McMillan’s menu includes the falafel sandwich on a Dizengoff-baked pita ($7) with tehina, chopped salad, and cabbage and topped to order with amba, harissa, or schug condiments; a falafel salad ($9); fries ($3) with spices including “shawarma” spice, Shabazi spice from La Boite, and za’atar; and tehina shakes ($4) – vegan milkshakes that combine a base of tehina (ground sesame seeds) with flavorings like turkish coffee with halva, chocolate with Israeli Kedem tea biscuit, and coconut with rose. Morels Cafe Louisville, Kentucky (USA)

Get ready for pure indulgence because Stanley Chase is set to open a smashing vegan restaurant in Louisville in Kentucky – Morels Cafe. The cafe will have a small but super delicious and frequently changing menu featuring items like The Farby’s Beef and Cheddar, The Philly cheese steak and buffalo chicken ranch, cashew cheese plus grab-and-go foods {of course all vegan}. Gratitude, Los Angeles (USA)

Looks like LA is soon going to take over the title of the Vegan Capital of the world, with another vegan restaurant set to open it’s doors at the Golden Triangle in Beverly Hills. It’s none other than the famous Gratitude planning to open it’s third restaurant in town at 419 N Canon Dr. Mouth watering preparations from chef Dreux Ellis, all completely organic and plant-based – we cant wait for this one for sure!

Heart Beet Eatery, New York (USA)


Kosher, vegan and organic – three terms that rarely come-up together but thanks to Hear Beet Eatery that they made it possible. This recently opened place in Forest Hills in New York serves everything from yummy and healthy vegan sushi to organic brick-oven pizzas and burgers and indulgent pies. We can already smell cinnamon notes from their Butternut Squash Bisque.

Eqvita, Monte Carlo, France {Opened in July 2016}

A restaurant opened by world’s number one tennis champion is definitely worth a visit; and Eqvitas, the vegan restaurant opened by Novak Djokovic in his home town Monte Carlo, definitely doesn’t disappoint. While not completely vegan, Novak has been on a plant based diet since over a year and credits his plant based diet for his professional success.

The delicious scrumptious food prepared with high quality organic ingredients and superfoods not only looks delicious but tastes that too. Think double chocolate cake, flavorful crunchy burger, chia porridge and organic cold pressed juices.

With over 360% increase in Britain’s population it’s no surprise that many new vegan restaurants are cropping up in England. The latest to follow the suit is a pub based in Nottingham, The Peacock. While the restaurant always offered plenty of options to its vegan clients, it is now making a 100% vegan switch. The restaurant opened up in its brand new avatar, after a complete refurbishment, in September 2016 and is the first vegan pub in the city. Our favorites on the menu are cheeseburger, jalapeno and cheese poppers and the sticky toffee pudding (classic British). For cold winter days, we love the home made pakoras with mango chutney in Indian style.

Evergreen Organics, Doha, Qatar

Taking cue from its neighbors like Kuwait and Dubai, Qatar wakes up to the vegan movement and opens its first vegan restaurant in its capital city Doha. Focusing on healthy meals, Evergreen Organics is a healthy fast food and juice joint serving cold pressed juices, burgers, sandwiches, salads, smoothie bowls, sides and desserts made from healthy clean organic ingredients. Decorated using recycled materials and plants it looks the part too! The restaurant has pulled in two star chefs including chef Matt Downes from The Gothic veg restaurant, US and chef Maros Weiser from NAMA Artisans, London.

Homemade activated granola, raw zucchini puttanesca, hearty burger loaded with veggies, Arabian dream pudding, chocolate addiction and cold pressed juices and smoothies are some of delicacies from the menu. It’s a heaven for health freaks and raw foodists.

Meatless District, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Inspired by the meatpacking district of New York this newly opened vegan restaurant in Amsterdam with its industrial elements, clean and minimalistic interiors and lots of natural light dishs out inspired vegan meals. Meatless District is already a hit with the hip and health conscious Dutch, who love the vegan version of traditional Amsterdam comfort food. Their homemade scones, café latte, artichoke salad, MD burger and croquettes are highly recommended.

The Green Lion Bistro, Sydney, Australia

Food lovers rejoice, as Sydney is set for city’s first vegan pub and bistro The Green Lion, a venture by long time popular The Red Lion Hotel. The vegan bistro, which will open doors on 18th September, will serve traditional pub fares like burgers (Big Mac and vegan Fish Burger), nachos, pepperoni pizzas, chips, pies and also healthier options like salads and soups. The idea is to provide vegan versions of the classics without compromising on taste. Unlike most vegan restaurants the focus is not on offering healthy meals or being preachy vegan but on providing delicious meals. So next time you crave a a cheesy vegan pizza or a wholesome burger – you know where to head over to when you are in Sydney. They will also have a vegan wine list!

Bailgate Deli, Lincoln, UK

Last October saw opening of a new vegetarian deli and cafe in Lincoln with plenty of vegan options on the menu. This quaint European style cafe is located at the former premises of Yellowbellys of Bailgate on Gordon Road and has a lunch and an all-day brunch-menu. They create everything using fresh seasonal ingredients. We love their ‘Affogato’ – a just made double espresso poured over a (vegan) glacé ice cream.

Green House Cafe, Fargo, North Dakota, USA

The first vegan cafe of North Dakota, Green House Cafe opened its door to make healthy and delicious food vegan accessible and offer a place for like-minded people to enjoy a good meal while they socialise. Started by long time vegans and health enthusiast Joey and Abby Haynes started this place after they realized that vegans in the region couldn’t find a good hangout vegan place. You can enjoy healthy vegan meals that is made from local produce as much possible. Some of the star items on the menu include brown rice bowls, veggie burgers, scones, roasted fries and matcha cookies with green tea frosting.

The 26-year old gorgeous celebrity chef Chloe Coscarelli’s vegan fast food chain By Chloe is already popular among the New Yorkers, but it’s newly opened restaurant in Silver Lake has taken a step further and gives a full dine-in experience. Located inside 365 by Whole Foods store with a floor space of 1200 square feet , this place will wow you with its delicious plant based creations that are as healthy as they are delicious. Super amazing burgers (guac burger is our favorite), matcha kelp noodles, vegan ice-cream in flavors like coffee chia cup and kale cookies and portobello, veggie meatball and organic cocktails are our favorites.
