The second season of world’s first vegan TV show Plant Based By Nafsika has got us on hooks. From the amazing guests, delectable recipes (did you watch Hadara’s segment on how to make vegan chocolates at home?) and fantastic fashion to engrossing conversations on topics from vegan health and nutrition to lifestyle, the new season has come a long way from its debut chapter.
Shruti Jain, the co-founder of Address Chic, was the guest for the fashion segment of the second season where she talked about her inspiration behind starting Address Chic, a vegan fashion online store and digital magazine, and also styled four ethical looks presented by vegan models from New York clad head-to-toe in vegan fashion. Here’s the video of the full fashion segment followed by a complete detail of all the looks.
Look One: Sexy Summer Chic
Presented by Nzinga, Vegan Model, and Activist at Vegan Outreach
Summer is all about beautiful prints and colors. Nzinga looks striking in this botanical peach dress that would work for all summer occasions. Wear it with a cover-up when you want to look demure and for a sexy date night, just wear the dress with a statement jewelry like this gold lace cuff from the Brooklyn based ethical jewelry brand Vanessa Lianne and of course a sexy pair of heels. We chose to print clash with the shoes to keep things interesting.
The red ombre cover-up that Nzinga is wearing is made with organic cotton – it’s silky without harming a single soul. The botanical dress is made from modal – a great vegan alternative to silk. Veerah’s vegan heels in orchid print are made from recycled plastic waste and feature organic cotton sole along with memory foam for added comfort. We love her minimalist and chic Faeth V-earrings – ethically handcrafted from recycled sterling silver.
Look Two: Desk to Dinner
Presented by Ashley Morganic, New York Based Vegan Blogger
It’s all about a stylish jacket to elevate a simple look and taking off the jacket, and adding bold red hue on the lips is one way to take it from desk to dinner. Ashley’s tartan jacket is crafted from vegetable dyed organic cotton, her top is from vegan fashion brand Jan n June and is made from a fabric that’s created using recycled ocean waste. Her handbag is made from exotic vegan leather that’s embellished with crystals and uses various textures to create the luxe look. Our favorite part of her look (other than of course the jacket) is her jewelry. Her choker is handcrafted from recycled silver and her earrings are from a sustainable brand that uses metal from luxury cars that have been in minor accidents – eco-luxury!

Look Three: Flirty Feminine
Presented by Joan, New York Based Vegan Blogger
Ethical fashion is often stereotyped as dreary or boring. We wanted to change this perception and created this flirty dreamy look that is nothing like what people perceive about ethical style. This flirty dress with a slinky wrap silhouette, a ruffled neckline and hem, and an adjustable waist tie-closure rode high on the style quotient. We teamed it with super high heels and a matching black bag to let the dress do all the talking.
Would you believe that this dress is made from fabrics derived from banana and soy? Not only are these fabrics eco-friendly (as they are made from waste) but these are also vegan. The fluid drape and luxe feel makes these great silk-alternatives. Faeth creates the most stylish outfits using eco-friendly and vegan fabrics that you’ll fall in love with.
Look Four: Demure Sexy
Presented by Tamara Barbakova, Vegan Model & Student
Luxury and ethics are not oxymorons anymore. Tamara’s outfit is a case in point. She is wearing this demure yet sexy color-blocked dress with a high neckline and a thigh slit and pairs it with a luxury vegan handbag from Stella McCartney and Chanel inspired vegan heels from luxury Italian shoe brand Opificio V. Many people don’t know that Stella McCartney uses no leather or fur in any of her collections. Her luxury vegan handbags are coveted by fashion darlings like Angelina Jolie to Rihanna and we can see why!
Tamara’s Faeth dress is crafted from fabric made from soy and cotton blend and is ethically made in India where the workers were paid fair wages and provided good working conditions.
